Who would have thought...

Snow right before April 1st! When I heard the forecast at the beginning of the week I wasn't really believing them, I know, how could I do that ;-) But here is the proof. Just when I was about to go out and plant all of the flowers that we like to have in our outdoor shooting area for spring and summer portrait sessions... And next week we are supposed to have a low of 32 one night, oops, better put of the planting for another week or two.

Red Rock Canyon

Our last evening in Vegas, we decided to take a drive to Red Rock Canyon, about 30 minutes away from the strip. I had always heard about it, but in our many trips to Vegas, we had never quite made the drive there. Wow, is all I have to say! The colors of the rocks were incredible and arriving just before sunset was spectacular. There is a 13 mile loop that has several lookout areas that you can pull off the road to get out. Here are a few pics for you to look at...

I've come a long way baby...

Just thought you might enjoy seeing how far I have come... I started posing and taking photos of my children early on, and Jessie, bless her heart, got the most of it. Maybe that is why she is such an outstanding photographer today. Below are a few of shots of her taken about 16 years apart. The first one was before I had taken any formal training, and the second was taken last July, a couple of months before Ava was born, and the third in December. Thank you Jessie for always being a willing subject for me! I love you...

Viva Las Vegas

Wow, we have been gone from Portland for 8 days! Didn't have much access to internet til now... Here is a quick self portrait of Doug and I in Paris, Las Vegas, wish it could have been the real Paris. We'll post a few more when we get home!!!

Our little Ava...

As many of you know, our daughter Jessie is also a photographer in CT! And yes, our first grand daughter lives all the way over there. Jessie posted a few pic's of Ava on her blog the other day, so I thought I would show one of them here so you can see our little peanut! Baby B... wasn't thrilled with getting her picture taken...

Well, baby b wasn't that happy about visiting us this week... but, I have to say I think we were able to get shots that are keepers!! Mom and Dad worked hard, and so did we, perseverance paid off. We had the pleasure of photographing this couple's wedding, and now we are blessed with being able to take there family photos as well. I think that one of the most rewarding benefits of photography, is the lasting relationships we are able to form with our couples and families!
