On Saturday we took action shots at the Parkrose Dance Competition. This is probably the toughest shooting that I do, but mostly because of the costumes, not because of the action. My goal is to get shots of as many different dancers as I can in that short period of time. So much of the time with the costumes and makeup, they look similar when looking through the little viewfinder of the camera.
All of the teams and dancers show an incredible amount of dedication. Practicing hours on end to perfect their routines. As former dance parents, Doug and I know first hand what is involved. Our daughter was on the Parkrose team for two years. I remember the first year I was somewhat amazed at the whole dance world. Stefanie told me about her first competition and that it was an all day event, I just kind of cocked my head to the side and said, "Really? wow" Well that was the first year. The second year Doug and I were full fledged prop parents, setting up and taking down props, painting floors, and hanging out with the crew. Hard to believe this was 10 years ago!!
Here is one of the cool shots from Saturday!

Time to Vote!!!
Well we have had a great time photographing all of those adorable kids for the Model Search Contest we have entered. It is now time to vote and at the same time raise money for a very great charity. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, http://www.nilmdts.org/, helps to provide photographic memories for families whose children don't make it home from the hospital.
There are great prizes for the winner and also notoriety for the winning studio. We ask that you all help Photographs by Kellie be that winning studio. You can find the kids we have entered the following way:
1. Go to http://www.sandypucvotes.com/
2. Scroll down to find Portland OR
3. Then you can click on VOTES to see the top ten for Portland, right now we are in 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th.
4. Then click on GALLERY to view the entrants, which are grouped alphabetically by their last name. We have got one in the "C", three in the "G" and three in the "P" category. Once you decide who you want to vote for, then click on their image. Votes are $1.00 each
Even if you only have a little bit to contribute and vote, remember that all of those little bits add up! And it would be great to tell your family and friends to check out the blog too. Thanks for supporting our studio and helping with this cause...

Blue eyes...
Gotta love those blue eye... We had the pleasure of photographing this family for the first time last summer. When it was time to think about entrants in the model search contest, I was contacted by A's mom to see about bringing him in for a session. I am so glad that she did, his images turned out great. Here's your sneak peek!

Here's little brother...
I wanted to call him Mr. Serious because he was so thoughtful in most of his poses. Occasionally he would crack a little smile! This little guy kept Doug real busy playing catch with that soccer ball. And that adorable hat and jacket are just too much...

Too much fun!
Well the last few days have been a little crazy. On Saturday we did action photography at the Canby Dance Competition. That was a blast! We always love interacting with all of the dancers. But, I was already getting sick with that darn flu bug the night before, so by the time we made it home that night, I was all but down for the count. Spent the next couple of days pretty much out of commission. And now that I am feeling better, I can't really taste or smell much. It sure takes the fun out of eating!!
Today we had the best time with this little guy and his brother (you'll see brother's shots tomorrow). I just have to tell you how well behaved they are. We all laughed and played a lot. It just amazes me how many different expressions we can get out of this guy! Hope you enjoy this sneak peek...
